Saved from the wrecking ball for one dollar in 1968 — the 1884 City & Town Hall, now a museum of the town it once governed.

Flat front elevation of the 1884 City and Town Hall, after Franklin Kruger's 1971 pen drawing. Three arched windows across the upper floor open onto the 1891 Library Room, the Council Chamber, and the Courtroom and Vault. On the ground floor, an arched window on either side of the central entrance opens onto the Jail Cell (left) and the Fire Station (right). The central arched double-door — under a stone tympanum plaque reading CITY HALL 1884 — opens onto the museum's own story.
